Workplace at Mumbai ? Compliance under PoSH Act is due by July 20, 2019

Sexual Harassment of Women (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (PoSH Act) , requires every employer to constitute an Internal Committee (IC) for enquiring into complaints of sexual harassment filed by any woman at workplace.

This requirement is applicable to both Government as well as non government organisations employing ten or more employees

The Women Development and Child Development Department, Government of Maharashtra had issued a general letter, according to which

  • All establishments in district of Mumbai City to constitute and register their IC constituted as per PoSH Act.
  • For the purpose , the employers are required to fill in the details of their IC in the prescribed format and submit it to Bldg. 117, BDD Chawl, 1st Floor, Dr. Ambedkar Colony Compound, Dr. G. M. Bhosale Marg, Worli, Mumbai 400 018
  • Failure to do so, may result in a fine of Rs. 50,000
  • The last date to submit the details is July 20, 2019
